N1  - At the planning stage in the construction of wind farms it is required to predict and compare the expected noise levels with definite noise limits. The measurement procedures are introduced and the masking of the wind turbine noise by the wind induced background noise is discussed. Special attention is given to the 'Infrasound Problem'. Declaring sound power levels and tonality by means of at least three noise measurements at different wind turbines of the same type is increasing the reliability of wind farm planning, thereby improving public acceptance
