This paper presents a mixed integer, goal programming model (MIGP) which can aid engineering technology managers and analysts in determining the most desirable long term strategies for acquiring advanced technology capabilities under conflicting managerial, technical, and financial objectives. Computer run times for various "mixes of objectives" are presented for both a CRAY supercomputer and a Pentium personal computer. Numerous research extensions are offered.
