In the last few years the wind energy branch has been experiencing rapid growth making it an important area for future development and offering manufacturs, subcontractors and service providers significant potential for future growth. At the same time, the wind energy sector is suffering from a lack of highly skilled workers, and this situation is aggravated by the absence of structured and specialized academic training programmes, such as what has been the norm in the automobile and aircraft industry.
