The Operations Management CD-ROM includes many features that will help you learn and study each chapter of the textbook. In order to email responses to the Video Case Discussion Questions to your instructor, you must have an Internet connection and email software on your computer. The rest of the features on the CD will function normally without an Internet connection. --Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 You will need Adobe(R) Acrobat (R) Reader(R) to view and print the .pdf files found on this CD-ROM. Adobe Acrobat Reader is found in the "programs" directory at the root level of this CD-ROM. --Active Model Exercises These Excel-based graphical models allow students to answer Questions and visually explore the effects of changes in inputs. --Excel OM Excel OM is Prentice Hall's exclusive user-friendly Excel add-in. Excel OM automatically creates Worksheets to model and solve problems. Users select a topic from the pull-down menu, fill in the data, and then Excel will display and graph (where appropriate) the results. This software is great for student homework, "what if" analysis, or classroom demonstrations. --Excel OM Example Data Files The example data files contain data to solve all oxed examples in the text are already prepared to help students in learning Operations Management. --PowerPoint Lecture Notes These extensive PowerPoint Lecture Notes are available for evey chapter. The lecture notes provide reinforcement of the main points of each chapter and allow students to review the chapter material. Microsoft PowerPoint 97 or later version is required to view the PowerPoint Lecture Notes. Information about PowerPoint can be found on the Internet at http://www.microsoft.com/powerpoint. --Practice Problems The additional Practice Problems provide additional problem-solving experience. They supplement the examples and solved problems found in each chapter. These are worked-out solutions to common problems, and are available for almost every chapter. Practice Problems require Microsoft Word to view and use- Video Cases Video Cases feature four real Companies-Hard Rock Cafe, Ritz Carlton, Regal Marine and Wheeled Coach-and allow students to watch a 2-minute video clip and read about the case. The students are then asked several questions and can e-mail their answers to their instructor. There are 15 Video cases. QuickTime 5 or later version is required to view the videos. CD-ROM Tutorial Chapters The tutorial chatpers contain additional topics that are not in your textbook.
